I’ve been talking about how coal and coal miners have done well over the past few years. Peabody (BTU) went up over 1200% from its post-pandemic lows. The reason is that China continues to import more coal each year.
Some 50% of China’s power comes from coal and its consumption continues to grow in real terms.
Despite all the wishful thinking of environmentalists (including the idiot greens in Germany who traded clean burning nuclear for dirty coal), coal demand continues to grow worldwide.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. (ARLP) has a p/e of 5.88 and pays an 11.75% dividend.
